(Art) Remote control vampires

14th November 2011 (12:44)

So... this new revelation in vampire mythology that says that since the Seed broke, demons have to possess the animated undead corpses of vampires remotely, from their hell dimensions, instead of entering directly into their bodies as before.

Does anyone else imagine it looking something like this?  :)

remote control vampires!

Introducing the new best-selling game in the lower dimensions...

But those 'Slayer' mobs are total hax; they seem to be scripted to win every time...

What's the world coming to, when one vampire behind a desk can do the work it used to take 100 vampires to do? It's a corporate plot.

(I'm pretty sure Willow was just saying that vampires have to come here from another dimension to possess someone, but hey... Joss may now decide he likes this interpretation better.)

Each of those demons has its own vampire! We're talking custom-designed craftsmanship here :)

I'm not sure on how to interpret it - your version does make a lot more sense, but there was an interview with Andrew C where he does more or less imply that they're controlling the vampires remotely, just as the text seems to say. But maybe it's just bad wording.

I saw that interview... I'm not sure AC caught the specifics of the question, though. I'm sure somebody's pointed it out to him and Scott Allie by now, and I'm betting it gets changed in the TPB.

They should have had Willow put that sentence first rather than second... the way they have it worded, she puts the conclusion of her argument before the premise. That might be natural for someone who's explaining something she's just now thinking of, but it did make for unclear reading.

Still, there must be a place in the Buffyverse for green booger demons remotely controlling vampires. :-)
