And bang bang, Melkor's silver sword came down upon our head.

Melkor's holding Grond before it turned to darkness along with him. :)

Cheshire Cat goes Whee!

If you've read any of my Elf stories you will know why I am almost falling off the settee laughing at this moment...

I'm guessing because Elves use weapon names as euphemisms for certain body parts?

Though I don't know if any of them would use Grond, or all things, as a euphemism...

Éowyn

Oh yes they do... it is, after all, Sindarin for 'club'.

In theory they call it the grondithen - but somehow the males often shorten the word so enlarging the appendage...

I actually didn't realise we hadn't already done it either, until I saw you mentioned in the Sunnydale Herald and thought, "Wait, I didn't see that on my friends page..." :)

Lesbian Vampire Seal of Approval

Full disclosure - yours was probably the first (or one of the first) LJ's devoted to the Buffyverse I encounted when I entered this fandom, and it was because I'd glanced at the comics immediately after finishing the show last year and was trying to understand WTH was going on. I'm sure we'll never agree on the comics (hence why I try not to bring them up) but I've said more than once that I wish they'd been written with as much love, care and intelligence as your reviews were. I mean that quite sincerely. (Still don't like them, but I did try.) And I think it was that, some of your metas, the amazing convos here (some of which were admittedly over my head) that led me down the rabbit trail to other LJ sites and so forth...and the rest is history.

:)

Sky Bully needs to simmer down.

I'm worried, Emmie. I think you're going to be cheering for the wrong side as this story progresses. :)

Am I in charge of how you're characterizing Sky Bully and poor Melkor who's just trying to embrace his individuality and perhaps improve upon Sky Bully's crappy songs? No I am not.

Well, before I choose a side here I need to know what Iluvatar and Melkor's respective positions on auto-tune are.

No god worthy of worship would use auto-tune.

If you asked Tolkien, I'm pretty sure he'd say that dreary, soulless mechanisation taking the place of genuine creativity was the very essence of Morgoth's and Sauron's work...
