The history of Middle-Earth (chibi version): Part 76: Logistics

28th October 2013 (18:01)

The Elves were created in YT 1050 and the Great Journey began in YT 1105; I'm using the 10:1 conversion ratio between Years of the Trees and our years, hence Enelyë being 550.

According to later Elven law only the Queen of a nation (such as Melian or Galadriel)  had the right to give out lembas to people. Míriel is founding a tradition.

"Gallivanting?" Yes, Enelyë definitely became the matron of the Hillbilly Elves. (Or the Avari, which means... hillbilly elves.)

Míriel must have really been depressed to make the choice she did knowing that Indis would get ahold of her lembas recipe.

You know all the folktales of elves kidnapping mortals, making travellers disappear, and so forth? I'm pretty sure Tolkien intended the Avari to be the people responsible, while the Eldar became the noble, saint-like Elves we know from LotR.
