The History of Middle-earth (chibi version) - Part 100: Great expectations

13th February 2014 (11:18)

We've reached our century! Apologies for skipping around a little in the story, but I'm trying to weave the threads into a consistent narrative. :)

Elvish notes:
Valier - the word 'Valar' with a feminine ending, thus implying ''those Valar who are female'.
Ainur - collective name for the Valar and Maiar (in other words, all the 'angelic' type people in this story).

Part 100: Great expectations

Next time: Part 101: Of Thingol in Doriath.

Chibis by tektek.org
Original story by and copyright to J R R Tolkien, ed. C Tolkien: Primarily based on the Silmarillion, but incorporating ideas from the 12-volume History of Middle Earth series.

Wow... 100 episodes already.

Indis has better watch out. Her feelings for Finwë are starting to seem almost like a wish to compromise his marital fidelity. As I understand it, the very thought of such a thing would make an Elf's (or Tolkien's) head explode.

Do you have a way to make Míriel's chibi look pregnant? :-)

Indis is doing her very, very best to hide her feelings for Finwë and act normal around him and Míriel. She's only willing to open up her grief to Nienna because that's what Nienna does.

(I did have an idea for a cartoon where Fëanor is demanding to know why one of his sons has blond hair, and Nerdanel starts beating him over the head with a copy of Tolkien's essay 'Laws and Customs of the Eldar' while shouting "Elves are obligate-monogamous, you creep! Of course he's your son!")

My current plan is to skip straight to Fëanor's birth in that storyline, but I do have a pregnant Melian chibi prepared for next week's cartoon. :)
