The History of Middle-earth (chibi version) - Part 124: Noontide of Valinor

12th May 2014 (21:14)

Only one person was able to work out the tengwar from last issue? LJ, you disappoint me.

Canon tells us that Ingwë married and had children, but neither their names nor the name of his wife are ever mentioned. His invitation to Finwë to spend some time away from Tirion is also canonical, but I should probably point out that Indis's feelings for Finwë were not quite as obvious in the book as I've made them!

Aw, poor Finwe. :(

The chibi-children are ridiculously cute.

I did some experimentation with designing the child-chibis; their proportions are different to the adults rather than just being reduced-size versions of them. (Proportionatly larger heads, for instance).

Sadly, there are (probably) no vampires in Valinor for Nerdanel to slay.

Yup those Elf kids are almost aggressively adorable. How can I hate Feanor when I at the same time want to hug him and bake him cookies?
Love Earwen, though did not expect to see her so soon. So she is quite a bit older than her husband in this version. Of course, with them being Elves it doesn't really matter.

Well, Eärwen is from the same generation as Fëanor: and I did specifically want to show Olwë and Ingwë having children to contrast to Finwë.
