The History of Middle-earth (chibi version) - Part 140 - Time's up

10th July 2014 (23:42)

Time to reintroduce a character we last saw way back in #67 - and the clothes he puts on we haven't seen since #7.

Nothing can possibly go wrong with this.

Part 140: Time's up

Next time: Part 141: Parole hearing

Chibis by tektek.org
Original story by and copyright to J R R Tolkien, ed. C Tolkien: Primarily based on the Silmarillion, but incorporating ideas from the 12-volume History of Middle Earth series.

No, of course not.

I like ghostly Miriel still hanging around in the corner.

Fortunately Manwe is a wise and perceptive judge who will surely recognize whether Melkor's repentance is genuine.

Bear in mind that Námo has prophetic insight, so it's quite possible that he already knows what's going to happen. He just won't say so, because of Destiny.

Hey, Melkor even spray-painted his halo for the occasion and put on his boots without the toe spikes. His repentance must be genuine.

I can't imagine how Miriel finds this existence fulfilling. "Woooooo.... seventy bottles of beer on the wall, seventy bottles of beer.... OK, bored now..."

Actually - Melkor has a fake golden halo tied to his actual spiky black one with three pieces of string.

I know, it's not very clear due to the scale of the drawing. :)

As for Míriel, she's happy, at peace. She knows that everyone she cares about is all right. Time doesn't mean anything. Nothing has form. But she's still her, you know? And she's warm. And she's loved. And she's finished. Complete.

Xander: What do you mean we pulled the wrong soul out of... Wherever?

Willow: Well we got Buffy too. We just got someone else as well. She sort of materialized on the other side of town. I'm sure they'll both be fine. They just need some time to adjust.

I'm not sure Míriel would actually do much of interest in Sunnydale - even though power-wise, as one of the Firstborn Children of Ilúvatar, who saw the light of the Trees with her own eyes, her raw power level would probably be at least Glory-level. She just wouldn't want to do much with it except weave tapestries.

If Willow managed to pull Fëanor's soul out of Mandos, however... oh boy.

There is the question of what happens when Glory decides Miriel is the key and tries to disassemble her...
