Quick question

I was wondering. Are there any transcripts of the various 'Buffy' and 'Angel' DVD commentaries available online anywhere?

Plenty of people seem to have created transcripts of the episodes themselves, but I've come up blank in a search for the commentaries. Which seems odd, because it seems like exactly the thing an enthusiastic fan with too much time on his hands might do... :-)

I got all excited and then it was all ARCHIVE DOT ORG EPIC FAIL. (They saved the front page someone set up, but not the linked commentary transcripts)

Although I quail at the thought of you spending so much time on making them yourself and not writing more fic (yeah, I'm selfish that way), it would certainly be worthwhile given the paucity of what's currently available (ie none).

(also you may freely chastise me for having the audacity and/or pompousness to say paucity)

So somebody has done it before, but their work is lost to the ravages of time and decay? Bummer.

Also, nothing wrong with using 'paucity' and I'm glad you like my fic. I wouldn't worry: when it wants to be written, it gets written...

Thanks!

"Are there any transcripts of the various 'Buffy' and 'Angel' DVD commentaries available online anywhere?" Not that I know of. Transcripting those would certainly be very useful, as there isn't even any subtitles for them (at least on the version of DVDs I own) but it represents a lot of work.

:-) It seems to be generally assumed that I was volunteering for the job if someone hasn't already done it...

I was actually thinking of transcribing the Joss commentaries, not necessarily the other ones, and not all in one go. We'll see.

He! That's the ransom of providing work of quality! :)

I'd have volonteered to help you for one or two episodes, but following the conversation without subtitles is too much of a problem and the transcript would end up something like that : bla bla bla, long blank, bla bla, very loooong blank... Not very productive, I fear.

You know, if this thought had come to you a couple months earlier, I would have considered taking a shot at the transcripts (the Buffy ones, at least). Pity though, I just started work at a new place, so that means no more having more time than I know what to do with... =\

Our loss is presumably your gain, though. :-) Thnaks!
