This is the last cartoon (for a while anyway) with maths in it! Promise! :)
Canon note: 30 Years of the Trees elapsed between the creation of the Elves and the events in my next cartoon; I'm going with the version of the chronology that says one Tree year = 10 of our years, so that's 300 years. An elven generation being about 60 years is from 'Laws and Customs among the Eldar' - though Tolkien only says that "their children were born within a short space of years after their wedding"; it was my assumption to make that '10 years', mostly because I wanted to calculate the maximum feasible number of Elves there'd be from a standing start of 144 of them, assuming they're all breeding like crazy to fill up that big, empty world. And because they haven't invented most arts and crafts yet, so how else are they going to fill their time? :)
Part 45: Go forth and multiply
Next time: Part 46: Pricking of my thumbs.
