Who needs Oromë? They can see the ocean from where they're standing!

Imagine their confusion if they could read.

Even if they actually were the proportional height shown in that cartoon, I think the ocean would be out of sight. Remember, in the First Age there was Beleriand where the Sea was by the time of LotR.

But yes, all the Third Age references on the map would be confusing. :)
