The history of Middle-Earth (chibi version): Part 88: Mind the ...! Oops.

12th December 2013 (17:03)

So why didn't Ulmo wait for the rest of the Elves? It's not like they're not all immortal, so waiting a few years won't harm anyone.

I had an idea yesterday for the first meeting of Nerdanel and Fëanor and created a bunch of cartoons showing it; which is a bit awkward since it'll probably be next year before we get that far in the story, and I still have to deal with all the intervening events...

Trouble is, all the stories diverge now. I've left Elwë lost in the woods, the Vanyar and Noldor are off to Valinor, the Teleri are going to do their own thing shortly too. I'm still wondering whether it's best to flip between the different story strands, or follow one through to a logical stopping place in one arc over several weeks, then go back to pick up the next arc?
.

(In case it's not clear, Ulmo's *sigh* is a response to Ossë and Uinen.)

Next time: Part 89: We are sailing.

It depends what you mean by "know it by heart". I still get muddled up with all those "Fin..." elves. They all just merge into one in my mind. (Except Finwë of course, but then he's really one of the "...wë" elves whose name just happens to begin with "Fin".)

Anyway, your idea of switching storylines on cliffhangers sounds like a good one. You can always include a link back to the post with the previous bit of that storyline if you're worried people will forget what was happening.
