The history of Middle-Earth (chibi version): Part 90: Papers please

19th December 2013 (22:15)

And this is number 90. Nine zero. If you printed these cartoons out and laid them end to end they'd stretch - well, probably out my front door and part way down the path. At least!

The forms are based on the US visa waiver form and customs form, as some of you may recognise.

Anyway, back to watching the DVD commentary on the 'Hobbit' extended edition, which I just bought today. :)

Part 90: Papers, please

Next time: Part 91: Dim the lights.

Chibis by tektek.org
Original story by and copyright to J R R Tolkien, ed. C Tolkien: Primarily based on the Silmarillion, but incorporating ideas from the 12-volume History of Middle Earth series.
Questions and comments welcome!

I'd say it seems a bit counterintuitive to first invite them and then make them fill in forms to let them in, but then I just learned today that Neil Armstrong had to fill in an immigration form when he returned from the moon, so.

Weren't there just two whales when they started? Did the third one oversleep and had to catch up, or did he just happen by and thought pushing an island around looked like fun?

I think the forms were Námo's idea. The other Valar humour him, because he intimidates them.

(I'm also pretty sure the Apollo 11 customs declaration was done by the astronauts as a joke. :))

Technically there were hundreds of whales; the others were hiding behind the first two you saw...
