More chibis, and a poll

I've been spending part of the Christmas holidays designing various chibis I'm going to be needing next year, for the history of Middle-earth. Behind the cut you'll find a working document showing a group of them from various angles and styles. Can you guess who they are? :)

Also, while I'm at it, a poll for how I should treat a certain upcoming episode:

Poll #1950025 Death of Amras

How should Amras, son of Fëanor, die?

Early on, at the burning of the ships at Losgar (as per HoME)
Late on, at the sack of the Havens of Sirion (as per the Silmarillion)
Combine both stories - he's caught in the burning at Losgar, but somehow survives it and dies at the Havens later.
I have no idea what you're talking about, but I want to vote in this poll anyway.

Celegorm the "Fair"

Aww I really hoped you wouldn't make Celegorm blond, as it is so cliche and makes little sense. A lot of dark haired characters in Tolkien's work are called "fair" or "white" (Arwen, Luthien, Boromir, Elwing etc.) as it can describe someone of a pale complexion or physical beauty. Of course having read the HOME you probably know that and made him like that because you like it or because the different hair colour easier distinguishable from his brothers in the chibi style (though how is that gonna work with Finarfin's sons AKA the Aryan Super Squad?)
That's totally cool, personally I always imagined looking like Guy of Gisborne off the BBC show Robin Hood.

Re: Celegorm the "Fair"

Sorry! But in all honesty, I'm happy to go with the fan clichés for something like this, even if I occasionally poke fun at them.

...and now I've an idea for a cartoon where an angry Fëanor is demanding to know how Nerdanel could gave birth to a blond baby who looks suspiciously like his uncle Finarfin; and Nerdanel hits him over the head with a copy of 'Laws and Customs of the Eldar' and points out that Elves are biologically incapable of adultery, so he can stick his suspicions where the Silmarils don't shine.

(Yes, I imagine Fëanor's and Nerdanel's relationship to be passionate and fiery in every sense of the words. :))

But getting back to the point: yes, I made Celegorm blond partly because most fandom sources say he is, but also because finding distinguishing features to tell apart several dozen Elves is not going to be easy. At the moment I'm thinking heraldic tabards with appropriate images (a flame for Aegnor, anvil for Angrod, and maybe a pickaxe for Finrod?)

Also, I didn't realise before, but apparently in the Lay of Leithian Tolkien actually did refer to "proud Celegorm with gleaming hair". So there is precedent.
