The History of Middle-earth (chibi version) - Part 117: Why?

17th April 2014 (15:48)

You'll notice that the Noldor have a different opinion on the usefulness of literacy compared to the Sindar! Rúmil's alphabet was invented separately and independently of Daeron's alphabet mentioned in a previous episode, though I suppose it's possible they discussed the issue on the Great Journey (if Daeron is old enough, and wasn't born in Doriath) and influenced each other.

Part 117: Why?

Next time: Part 118: To die, to sleep

Original story by and copyright to J R R Tolkien, ed. C Tolkien: Primarily based on the Silmarillion, but incorporating ideas from the 12-volume History of Middle Earth series.

Aww.

I'd offer a hanky but hopefully you've stopped crying by now? :)

There's no denying, parts of the Silmarillion are pure tragedy.
