The History of Middle-earth (chibi version) - Part 117: Why?

You'll notice that the Noldor have a different opinion on the usefulness of literacy compared to the Sindar! Rúmil's alphabet was invented separately and independently of Daeron's alphabet mentioned in a previous episode, though I suppose it's possible they discussed the issue on the Great Journey (if Daeron is old enough, and wasn't born in Doriath) and influenced each other.

Heh.

I've often wondered how Fëanor handled the fact that his own mother died (spoilers!) after bearing one child, but Nerdanel managed six pregnancies perfectly well. Was he proud of his wife, or secretly resentful?
