The History of Middle-earth (chibi version) - Part 142 - Judgement Day

18th July 2014 (11:58)

I made a few last-minute changes to this one, which is why it's a day late.

Note that Melkor is being absolutely honest in what he says!

Part 142: Judgement Day

Next time: Part 143: Done his time

I've always been a big fan of Ulmo...

But he lacks compassion! :(

Yes, I like that Melkor carefully tailored his statements to be completely truthful, but to mean things far different than what they seem.

Melkor: creator of orcs, balrogs, dragons, and politicians.

His last statement is particularly ominous. :)

I take it Melkor has mastered the art of double speak...

He pretty much invented it!

(The Valar, being fundamentally pure-hearted and good, found it very hard to understand the concepts of lying and selfishness. Ulmo was the only one to see through Melkor's doubletalk, but he was outvoted by the others.)

Námo probably saw through it too, but... didn't say anything.
