What about Eol, that left Doriath in that time because the girdle was set by his house, and gave Thingol a sword that became Beleg's sword and later Turin's?

Did you forget him?

(I've never been keen on that particular story.)

Also, I think I prefer the idea of Eol being one of the Avari than him being yet another of Thingol's kinsmen. Narratively, too, it doesn't really fit the concept of a beleaguered and surrounded Doriath beset by enemies, if someone is just going to say, "I don't like it here, I'm going to live outside the barrier!" I think it works better if Eol goes to Nan Elmoth to hide from the Sun when it rises.
