The History of Middle-earth (chibi version) - Part 229 - Ships are needed

16th July 2015 (17:57)

I don't think it's clear from canon whether Fëanor actually had a plan in mind all along, or simply hadn't thought this far ahead. But you'd think some of the Noldor would remember that there's a big ocean in their way...

Part 229: Ships are needed

Next time: Part 230: Brother, can you spare a ship?

I'm sure Fëanor won't take it badly if they refuse to help.

Is Celebrimbor designing ships a reference to the version where he went to ME with Galadriel and Celeborn in their own ship(and was one of the Teleri iirc)?

No (I'm not using that version). Purely a reference to him being one of the most creative Fëanorians, and setting up his later dissatisfaction with his kindred, since he'd have preferred a different way to cross the ocean.

Ah, no I knew you weren't using that version (that version is awful and bites with too many things) I just thought it was a random reference.
Setting up the dissatisfaction that way is a good idea, though!
