    Uinen may seem cute and cuddly, but she and Ossë are the Ainur responsible for storms at sea, shipwrecks and drowned sailors. Compared to them, Manwë is a wimp, yes.

    (I see him as being perpetually caught between those Valar demanding the smiting of evil-doers, and those wanting mercy and compassion, always trying to strike a balance. It's not an enviable position.)
