The History of Middle-earth (chibi version) - Part 257 - North

7th December 2015 (18:41)

Back to cartoons instead of fic; and the first on-page appearance of Idril Celebrindal!

The title is a Fallen London reference, my entry in the 'most obscure reference of 2015' contest. :)

    Part 257 North

Next time: Part 258: Crossing the Rubicon

Chibis by the now-dead website formerly known as tektek.org
Original story by and copyright to J R R Tolkien, ed. C Tolkien: Primarily based on the Silmarillion, but incorporating ideas from the 12-volume History of Middle Earth series.

Well, at least it's looking good for a white Christmas.

This is long before the birth of Christ. White Hanukkah?

And indeed, a reckoning was not postponed indefinitely.

Nr Eaten was before my time in FL, so that phrase meant nothing to me without google. :(

    stabbity

Feanor, no. D: And aw, baby Idril.

Hey, I've played Fallen London! It's been a while, though, and I don't remember the North reference. Unless it was something to do with Mr. Eaten's name, maybe?

I'm not sure if 'north' is a reference to anything specific, other than dire warnings that you should never go in that direction... (Which is appropriate here too).

Now we are at the point when I don't even get upset at Feanor anymore. After Alqualonde he loses all redeemabidility in my eyes.
    Even your more relatable Feanor.

Nienna would be angry at you saying that nobody is redeemable...

    You are right.
Now I feel bad and have learned something.

As an immortal being Feanor will have to live with what he has done for all eternity, and that is a horrible fate.

Idril is so tiny, her bootees must be absolutely microscopic.

Every time Elenwë tried to put some on her, she just kicked them off again.
