I miss my old show
When you see this, post another Buffy quote in your LJ. Let's see how long this can go on.

But that's not the point. There's always a name. Lincoln. Hitler. Gandhi. A name can inspire terror, awe... sometimes great things. But there's millions of people go into making a name. People facing things they couldn't imagine they would. In the moments that matter, even our own names are just sounds people make to tell us apart. What we are isn't that.

The real questions run deeper. Can I fight? Did I help? Did I do for my sisters? My comrades, children, slimy slug-clan... There is a chain between each and every one of us. And like the man said, you either feel its tug or you ignore it. I tried to feel it. I tried to face the darkness like a woman and I don't need any more than that. You don't have to remember me. You don't even know who I am.

But I do.

It says old show. ;-) Seriously, that quote is one of the best bits about the comic. Brilliant.

Well, 'The Chain' was published over a year ago... that's old! :-)

And if I put my mind to it, I could fill the entire screen with quotes. Want one from every season? A mixture of funny ones, dramatic ones, romantic ones, teary ones?

I don't think I could give you a quote (from memory) from every single broadcast episode, mind you, but I could probably at least try...

For the record, I absolutely adore that quote.

'The Chain' was such a terrific one-shot.

I was originally going to quote something from the most recent issue of S8, but that particular dialogue just stuck in my mind so much, I couldn't use anything else. Although "There is no truth. There's just what you believe." came close.

All (Why We Read)

Wow, that quote's even better than I remember. Scheduling Buffy Season 8 reread sometime this month...

Just snagged this from you, by the way. :)

It's moments like that in 'The Chain' when you remember why Joss Whedon has a reputation as a damn fine writer, even if you don't always agree with his choices. :-)
