(Meta) A Guide to 'Buffy' Ships

Apparently there's been a kerfuffle in the fandom these past few days about ships on Buffy. So below the cut I've put together a handy guide to help you recognise them, and know what to avoid:


Buffy/Angel

A sailing ship

Beautiful and romantic at first sight, but also old-fashioned and highly impractical in the real world.


Buffy/Riley

HMS Dreadnought, 1906

Big, slow, clunky and became obsolete very quickly as soon as something better came along.



Buffy/Spike

A nuclear submarine

Lurks unseen beneath the surface for years, but when it makes its presence felt, it can destroy your house or devastate entire nations.

Somewhat over the top, but caters for your every need, and perfect for an extended cruise around the Mediterranean. (Just don't ask too many questions about the people with the dark sunglasses... *g*)

"For Buffy/Satsu, though, I suggest some sort of experimental ship. :-) Preferably flashy and makes a lot of noise but doesn't have much staying power, like a hovercraft or hydrofoil."
